The NeXus
What is a Nexus? A nexus is a link or a bridge. V2 is a technological bridge that spans a technological barrier that we have been unable to cross. It is the bridge to our future. This bridge will allow us to cross over from a world that is Technologically Divergent to a world that is Technologically Convergent.This can only happen with a Paradigm shifting technology. (V2). We either change the game or nothing really changes except the facade.
When we speak of The NeXus, we speak of it in terms of an all encompassing vision, a way forward. We have a book in the making that crystallizes the vision set forth in The NeXus. In the meantime this web page and site should give you a good overview of what the NeXus is all about, so here goes.
You have to ask yourself as far as technology goes and especially computer and information technology where are we going as a community and an industry. I would have to say there is no direction for our community or our industry. We are literally moving in all directions in most cases counter to one another. This is not only counter intuitive but a waist of very limited and expensive resources. This just won’t do if we intend to revitalize our industry in order to provide more value and relevance to our customers. As it is now we are just flopping around like a fish out of water. Jumping at any gimmick that we think the people are interested in.
If we want to move ourselves forward. We will have to get our house in order. It would probably make sense to get a house first.
If we really want to bring about real change and broaden the area of opportunity for our industry we will have to find a way to work together in the pursuit of a higher purpose. Divided we will only work against our selves and impede innovation and progress. United with a common vision and sense of purpose will allow us to meet and exceed any challenge, especially what we are faced with today.
We need a house first. That house is the Digital Industrial Complex. Building a digitally convergent world means we have to become convergent. The digital Industrial complex will allow our industry and community to become one from many. This means the efforts of one individual, company or group strengthens and adds value to our industry as a whole. It has a compounding affect that does more than just ease the burden and the cost of duplication of all our efforts, it will generate an enormous amount of innovation and income which I don’t think any of us mind a bit. But the real satisfaction will come from the deeds of our new abilities. We will become much more useful to society because we can begin to address real world problems. If we don’t have a house we will continue to flounder. The obstacles are just too large to deal with as a divided community. United we will conquer, divided we are failing to deliver the true promise of the digital age.
How do we build the digital complex? We build it together. First there has to be a paradigm Shift. This is akin to tera- forming and tera- farming. The internet in its current state is not a suitable environment for A Cyber World. This is the main purpose of V2.
There has never been a technology with a mass and density so great that it would naturally draw everyone and everything to it like the gravitational pull of a black hole. It will be a moment of clarity (a paradigm shift). For those who don’t get it, it won’t matter. The paradigm shift is like the Borg. It will assimilate you and everything else. Pure and simple it is just a better way. The center of gravity that will be created is the only thing that can bring us together and hold us together. From this point on we will have a common goal and clear direction.
Now all we need is a since of purpose. We know the how (V2), we know the where (The Cyber world), but what is the compelling why? That’s simple. It is the struggle that we have always fought throughout our entire existence. It is the struggle to be Free, to be free and Autonomous. There is no purpose higher or equal ….
